ROBERTO MARQUEZ

Roberto Marquez
Roberto is first generation Mexican American, his family migrated to Biggs, California as farm laborers. He spent summers in his youth working in the fields learning the value of hard work and an appreciation for the opportunities available in this country. He graduated from Biggs High School and decided to remain local choosing to attend California State University Chico. 

While at Chico State, he took a class analyzing case law that he found both intriguing and captivating. He found his passion and his career path. In 1984, he graduated with a degree in Political Science and went on to Law School at the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law.

Roberto decided to practice law here where he had grown up and where his family remained. 

Shortly after receiving his license, Roberto joined the Yuba County District Attorney’s Office where he was a prosecutor for five years.  After leaving the DA’s Office he went to work for a year with the Rich Fuidge Lawfirm, specializing in civil law. 

Roberto quickly realized his heart and passion was in criminal defense work and he went into practice for himself. He opened a practice in Marysville preferring to remain where his roots were. He knew that he could best make a difference for the people here in this community where he had been raised, established strong relationships and spent his career practicing law. 

Twenty-five years later, Roberto focuses his practice to Northern California, including -- Sutter, Yuba, Butte, Glenn, Placer, Yolo, Sacramento, Tehama, and Colusa. He is a familiar face to many, with his strong community ties and relationships he has built throughout the years. He stands up for his clients, never backing down from a challenge. He has strong communication skills and is well experienced in trial work. He is a presence that illustrates confidence, capability, and dedication to achieving results.
